WHAT IS MATCHA?

 WHAT IS IT?

MATCHA is sweeping the nation as the superfood of superfoods!  MATCHA is extremely high quality powdered green tea prepared not by steeping like traditional tea but by whisking or mixing, meaning the entire leaf is ingested.  With a PANTONE 2017 color of the year green hue, MATCHA is the next frontier in food.

IS IT GOOD FOR ME?

One preparation of MATCHA has roughly the caffeine content of one cup of coffee but with a slower 3-4 hour release period, giving you a more sustained boost of energy with no crash.

Even better, MATCHA is packed with antioxidants.  With 31x more than broccoli, 15x more than pomegranate and even 7x the holy goji berry, MATCHA has benefits beyond caffeine.  MATCHA is also rich in amino acids like L-theanine which have been shown to increase focus and mental clarity making it a must for people who need to get things done.

WHERE DID IT COME FROM?

Matcha's origins can be traced nearly 1000 years back to 1191 AD.  All those years ago, a Zen Monk named Eisai was just coming back from a spiritual learning trip to China.  Wanting to further his knowledge of Buddhism, Monk Eisai sought enlightenment in established Buddhist schools beyond his own country's borders.  He had intended to spend time in Tibet but was unable to make it due to travel difficulties.  Lucky for us, Eisai's trip to China proved even more successful as he brought back zen scriptures, and more importantly, green tea seeds.  These seeds would eventually form the genesis of the tea tradition in Japan and make the Uji region around Kyoto the epicentre for the world's finest MATCHA.

CAN I REALLY REPLACE COFFEE?

Coffee addicts who have switched find that they enjoy a more sustained energy rush when compared to coffee while enjoying the antioxidant and amino acid health benefits that come with MATCHA.  Plus, the green color is VERY instagrammable.

WHY TEABUU?

Our MATCHA comes from the finest MATCHA farms in the world in Uji, Kyoto, Japan.  Other Japanese farms are capable of producing MATCHA but not to the standard achieved in Uji.  If they don't tell you where your MATCHA's from, chances are it's not from Uji.  We've painstakingly ensured that our products are the best they can be for the world's most discerning customers.
